  • His most famous play, Le Misanthrope, combines sharp wit with profound social commentary.

  • Molière had a flair for the dramatic; he often performed in elaborate costumes that showcased the joie de vivre of French theatricality.

  • He founded the Illustre Théâtre, which helped popularize the genre of comedy in France during the 17th century.

  • Sadly, Molière died on stage in 1673 while performing in his play Le Malade imaginaire, a fitting end for such a vibrant artist!
